If you are looking to transform your home for the holidays, you might be seeking out ideas to not only decorate the outside but also make your interior a winter wonderland.

So often, with holiday decorating, the outside gets the spotlight. While we love decorating the exterior of a home, that’s usually more for your neighbors, guests, and passersby to enjoy.

It’s the interior Christmas decorating that ends up being something you can truly enjoy every single day.

In this article, we’ll talk about some of the ways that a professional Christmas decorating service can transform your home for the holidays. You deserve to be able to enjoy your home to the fullest this holiday season.

#1: Incorporate a Professionally Decorated Christmas Tree

For many families who come to Big Sky, Montana just in time for the holidays, there’s no chance to find and decorate a Christmas tree. Instead, they just want their tree ready to go upon their arrival.

At Blanchford Landscape Group, we can select the perfect tree for your family and get it set up with lights.

Or, we can also have it decorated for you with bows or whatever else might suit your style. Some homeowners prefer the elegance and simplicity of just having a tree with lights.

Many Montana homes do have large great rooms and some clients are looking for extra tall trees. You can leave the hassles of dealing with this (transporting and setting up the tree and removal) up to us.

#2: Deck the Halls with Live Garland and Greenery

We love bringing live greenery inside, where it can make the home look festive and smell great, too. It really evokes a sense of holiday magic when you step inside and see the house decked out with live garland and wreaths.

Some interior Christmas decorating that we’ve done with garland and other live greenery include hanging custom-made wreaths over fireplaces, lining a mantel with greenery, window dressings, framing doorways or  wrapping staircases in garland.

Live greenery can truly make your home feel magical. You’ll find that your home suddenly smells like your own personal Christmas tree farm. We might also incorporate some berries, pinecones, and other elements to help make the decor even more colorful and festive.

Curly Willow, Red Dogwood, and fresh-cut greens can all make good arrangement choices and will add color to the home. We can also create flower arrangements with or without flowers. Sometimes homeowners prefer arrangements that do not have flowers as they will last much longer.

#3: Make Houseplants Part of Your Interior Christmas Decorating Plan

Houseplants can also be used as part of an interior Christmas decorating plan. The key to any good plantscaping plan boils down to making good plant choices.

Some plants are more “holiday-worthy” than others, though any greenery in the home can help liven it up.

  • Poinsettias: The poinsettia has become the quintessential holiday choice and is available in a variety of colors (though red remains the most popular). We love using poinsettias as part of our interior Christmas decorating plan.

  • Norfolk Island Pine: The Norfolk Island Pine is commonly used as an indoor houseplant during the holidays as it looks like its own mini Christmas Tree. Like a larger tree, it can be decorated with some lights or even small ornaments. We love to use these in areas where a full-sized Christmas tree would not fit, such as a child’s bedroom.

  • Christmas Cactus: This houseplant grows blooms in shades of pink and purple. It has a long bloom time and can really brighten a home for the holidays.

  • Rosemary: Due to its resemblance to a mini Christmas tree, Rosemary is sometimes a popular holiday choice. It also has a lovely scent that will fill the home.

  • Amaryllis: The Amaryllis is a flowering tropical plant that grows from a bulb. It has been called the “Christmas flower” and has become synonymous with Christmastime because it can be grown indoors and bloom during November and December. The large blooms make them a lovely addition to holiday décor.

Choosing a Christmas Decorating Service That Works Inside, Too

There are many decorating services that only focus on exterior decor. But as we mentioned at the beginning, there are a lot of great reasons why you might also want help with the interior decor.

If you want your home truly “holiday ready” you need to find a Christmas decorating service that does it all.

At Blanchford Landscape Group, we are proud to have a long list of happy clients who have hired us for holiday decorating services in Big Sky, and Southwest Montana. That includes both the exterior and the interior of their homes. Our work is customized for each client, based on their wants and needs.

Many of our clients see us as “property managers” and trust us to look after their homes when they are not in town. Our holiday decor clients are usually also our landscape clients. They have already trusted us to maintain the exterior of their home with all of their landscaping needs.

We’ve built long-lasting relationships that have translated into other services, including interior Christmas decorating services.

If you are looking to transform your home for the holidays, we’re ready to help. We can come up with a customized plan that is right for your property and will put you in the holiday spirit.
